How old does the student have to be to get your permit?

You have to be 15 years and 6 months old to take the permit test.

Do you have to obtain a permit to take driving lessons in the State of Arizona? What are the requirements?

Yes!
The teen must be 15 years and 6 months
The teen and parent must provide necessary application documents.
The teen must pass written and vision tests.
The teen must have a licensed driver who is at least 21 years of age seated in the front seat next to him or her at all times.

If you take Driver's Education do you still need to wait 6 months to get your license?

Yes, the State of Arizona requires that anyone under the age of 18 must hold an Arizona class G permit for at least six months.

Will you get an insurance discount if you take driving lessons through All Star Driver Education?

All of our programs qualify for insurance discounts, but each insurance company is different. We recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to see if they give a discount for enrolling in driver education classes.

Do you accommodate learning and physically disabled students?

All Star strives to work with students of all learning and physical levels, however, there are certain limits to what we are able to do. For further information, please contact the main office at (800) 967-7719.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We all accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. If you need to make other payment arrangements, feel free to call our Arizona office to make arrangements. We also accept payment from government organizations as well.

When should I pay? Is there a deposit required?

Arrangements can be made by calling our Arizona office at 480-600-5640. No deposit is required before the beginning of class. Payment may be done at the first day of class or a lesson with a check or cash. If you wish to pay with a credit or debit card, this much be called into our corporate office before the first day of class at (800) 967-7719.

What do you need to bring the first day of class?

Students need to make sure to have the following: A copy of the students Birth Certificate, The Driver Education Contract, found on our Home Page under Forms, and Payment (if not made already)

Do parents need to attend the first day of class?

It is not necessary for parents to be there on the first day of class with their students as long as the students bring the required paperwork and payment, if needed.

Can a student over the age of 18 take the driver education course?

Yes, they will be treated like any other student that is taking the driver education program.

Help! Ive lost my Certificate, what do I do?

All Star may reissue the certificate to you as long as you took the respective course work from All Star. We cannot reissue certificates for you if you attended another driver education school. Please contact our office to have this reissued.

What is the No-Show Fee Policy?

If you schedule a drive and do not show up for the drive, you will be charge a $20-no show fee for each missed drive. If you cancel a drive due to bad weather, you will be subjected to a $20 no-show fee. It is imperative that students arrive on time for their scheduled driving. If your student is not there when the instructor departs for the lesson it is considered a no-show and you will be charged a $20 fee.

Is there a fee for rescheduling drive times?

If you must change a drive time after the fourth day of class, you will be subjected to a $10 rescheduling fee.

What about cancelling a drive due to emergencies?

In case of an emergency, you must call your classroom instructor, without making this contact, you will be subjected to the no-show fee for the missed drive.

How will my insurance rates will rise upon adding a new driver?

Currently, parents are given automobile insurance discounts if their children complete formal driver education. If this bill passes, not only will home-schooled parents pay more for automobile insurance, the danger associated with less experienced drivers can raise insurance rates for all drivers.

What is the ASDE Discipline Policy?

Any student violating the rules and regulations as contained in this policy will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action and possible expulsion from the class. No refunds are granted due to disciplinary action that prevents a student from completing an All Star Driver Education course.

Prohibited acts include, but are not limited to:

  • Teasing, insulting, name calling, mean or rude gestures toward peers, instructors or employees, spreading rumors or behavior that would hurt other's feelings, swearing, taunting, ridiculing, humiliating, threatening, pushing, shoving, grabbing, spitting , sexual, ethnic, or harassment, stealing or extortion, fighting, kicking, punching, gang related gestures, assault, cheating, forgery, using cell phones during instruction, destruction of property belonging to All Star Driver Education or the facility in which classes are being held.

All Star Driver Education will expel any students in violation of State Laws and/or Local Ordinances which include, but are not limited to:

  • Abuse of fire alarms, safety equipment, bomb threats, lighting of fires or burning or attempting to burn any property belonging to the All Star Driver Education or the facility in which classes are being held or property belonging to persons employed by All Star Driver Education or attending the course, or the employees of the facility in which classes are being held. Possession, use of, or threatening to use dangerous weapons such as, but not limited to: fire arms, knives, iron bar, or brass knuckles. Possession, use or threatening the use of any weapon or dangerous object capable of inflicting bodily harm including but not limited to: chains, knives, fireworks, explosives, smoke bombs, and toy weapons resembling any of the above.

Do I need Drivers Education to obtain my driver’s license in Arizona?

The state of Arizona requires that you either attend an MVD approved Driver Education course OR complete 30 hours of supervised driving with a licensed adult over the age of 21.

Why should I take a driver’s education course?

Driver’s Education courses prepare students for the MVD Road Test required to obtain a license. Not only does Driver’s Education cover vehicle basics, maneuvers and state/federal laws, but also tips and tricks that will keep you safe on the roads; otherwise known as defensive driving.

How does Arizona Drivers Education work?

If you choose to enroll in a state approved Drivers Education course, you will be required to participate in 30 hours of training and pass an in-class Final Evaluation with an 80% or higher.

Once you have completed the course and passed your Final Evaluation, we will mail you our state approved Training Completion Certificate. You will be required to present this certificate at the MVD when applying for a Road Test.

Is this course approved by the DMV?

Our Arizona Teen Online Drivers Education course has met all of the requirements for licensing by the Arizona MVD. All Star Driver’s Education has been a licensed provider of driver’s education for 20 years and offers approved driver’s education in 10 states as well as online courses in every state.

How long will it take to complete this Arizona Teen course?

As required by the state, driver’s license training for teens must be a minimum of 30 hours in length. If you need to take a break or want to complete the course in smaller time increments, our system will remember where you stopped and you will be able to pick up where you left off last each time you log in.

How do I sign up for course?

To sign up for any of our online courses, visit AllStarDriverEdOnline.com. You must choose your state and the course you wish to enroll in and register online. All accounts must have a valid e-mail address in order to receive notifications, certificates and/or to communicate with our online staff.

What are the computer requirements?

Any computer with internet access will be able to access our online course. We recommend Google Chrome when accessing our courses, as it will provide the best view of our materials, though most any other browser will work just fine. Google Chrome is a free browser, available for download on the Google website. You will not need to purchase or download any software or hardware.

How does payment work?

Course fees are always due when you register for the course. You will not be able to access your course until you have made a payment.

ALL refund requests for any service offered are charged a $5 processing fee. No refunds are permitted once a student has actively started the online course. Refunds take 2-3 weeks to process and will be in the form of a check. No refund will be issued if the student is expelled due to disciplinary reasons. Upon failure to complete the course within the required time frame, no refund will be granted and no certificate will be issued.

What happens when I finish the course?

Upon completion of the course you will be required to take a Final Exam. You will have 3 attempts to pass the Final Exam. Once you have passed the exam, we will mail you the Training Completion Certificate. You will be required to present this at the MVD when applying for your Road Test.

Can you rush my certificate to me?

Yes. We can mail your certificate priority ($30) or overnight ($75). These prices are subject to change. Please give us a call, 1 (800) 967-7719.

Yes, our program can earn you an insurance discount with your auto insurance provider. However, we always recommend checking with your provider for more detailed information. It will ultimately be up to your auto insurance provider to allow such discounts.

What is the difference between the regular online course, and the combo course?

The online curriculum will be exactly the same for both courses. The combo course will include the full 6 hours of Behind the Wheel Driving with our certified instructor in your immediate area.

What is a Defensive Driving Course?

Defensive Driving is aimed to help teach students skills to drive safely, save lives, time and money and prevent accidents despite the road conditions and the actions of other drivers.

How does Arizona Defensive Driving work?

Those drivers in Arizona who have not taken a defensive driving course within the past 12 months, have an eligible citation, weren’t involved in an accident that resulted in a fatality or serious injury and are over 1 week away from their court date are eligible to take a Defensive Driving course.

The course consists of 11 modules and is required by the state to take the student 4 hours to complete. The course will require students to read material, view images and watch videos. Each topic will be followed by a few questions; each module, as many as 10 questions. The course will culminate in a 50-question final exam. Students are required to pass the final exam with a score of 80% in order to have completed the course.

Is this course approved by the DMV?

Our Arizona Defensive Driving course has met all of the requirements for licensing by the Arizona MVD. All Star Driver’s Education has been a licensed provider of driver’s education for 50 years and offers approved driver’s education in 10 states as well as online courses in every state.

How long will it take to complete this Arizona Defensive Driving course?

REMEMBER, you are required by law to complete your course BEFORE the week preceding your court date. If you do not complete the course before the week preceding your court date, the course will be considered incomplete and a refund will not be issued.

How does online driver’s education work?

You will just need to create an account on our website, www.allstardriveredonline.com.

There will be a final exam at the end of your driver’s ed course. Once you pass the test, we'll mail your Certificate of Completion to you to the address listed on your account.

How old do I have to be to start driver education?

You can be between 15 1/2 and 17 1/2 years old.

Will I need to take in0car driving lessons after this course?

California law requires all new drivers under 17 1/2 take at least 6 hours of drivers training (in-car driving lessons). After you complete our online drivers education course, you'll need to sign up with a licensed driving school. To take your instruction permit written test, you'll need the Certificate of Completion you receive from us, All Star Driver Education.

How long will it take for me to finish the course?

That depends on your individual pace. In California, all drivers’ education courses must be at least 30 hours. You can always go at your own pace and log in and out at your convenience.

My certificate has not come in the mail yet.

All certificates are mailed on Friday of every week. You should expect your certificate 10 – 15 business days after you’ve completed.

Can you email me my certificate?

Unfortunately, by state law, we cannot email certificates. All certificates will be mailed to the address listed on your account.

Can you email me my certificate?

If you lose your certificate, you can contact our office to request a duplicate by calling 800-967-7719. The cost for a duplicate certificate is $30. We will need to collect that fee before the new certificate is made and mailed.

Am I eligible for Driver’s Education?

Students are required to be at least 14 years 6 months old to be registered in driver’s education.

Is driver’s education required for me?

Any students under the age of 16 years 6 months old are required to have a certificate of completion from a certified driver’s education course.

How does online driver’s education work?

You will just need to visit our online website at www.allstardriveredonline.com and click on the state of Colorado. Click on the class of your choice, and click on “Register Now”. Once you have completed and paid for the class, the account will successfully have been created! Keep in mind, the account will remain “locked” until we receive the online contract.

I can’t log in. My account says “pending.”

Even though the account is successfully made and entered into our system, we do still require a copy of the Online Contract before we can “unlock” the account for the student to begin actively working on the course.

Where do I send my contract?

Once you have completed the Online Contract signed by both parent and student, you are welcome to scan & email them to online@allstarde.com, or you can fax it to our corporate office at (734)665-7680. If you do not have access to email/fax, then you are welcome to mail it to our office at: 75 Aprill Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.

How will I know when I can start the course?

As soon as we receive the contract, we will send you a “welcome email” that will let you know your account is ready to be accessed! It will also provide you with the website of where to login, your current username we have on file, and a brief overview of the course.

When do I get a certificate of completion?

We will mail a Certificate of Completion to the student’s home address once the course has been completed, and we have a Passed Final Exam on file. Please allow up to 2 weeks to receive this certificate from the date of completion.

Can you email me my certificate?

Unfortunately, by state law, we cannot email or fax certificates. All certificates are required to have a handwritten signature for the Colorado DMV (Division of Motor Vehicles).

How do I get a replacement certificate?

There is a $30 charge for any re-issued certificate. Please call our corporate office at (800)967-7719 when you are ready to make payment, and we’d be happy to get another certificate generated and mailed to you as soon as possible.

How can I get my certificate quicker?

We do offer Priority or Overnight mailing for an additional cost. If you would like the certificate to go out same-day, you must call in your payment before 3:00 pm EST, otherwise it will go out the next day. Priority mailing is an additional $30.00 and an Overnight is an additional $75.00. If you are interested in expediting your certificate, please call our corporate office when you are ready with payment and we can help you further.

Am I eligible for this course?

Any student who lives in Delaware, and has a valid license is eligible to take the Basic Defensive Driving Course. If you’ve already taken and passed the Basic Defensive Driving Course, and you are within 180 days of the 3-year expiration date, then you are now eligible to take our Refresher Course.

What is a defensive driving class?

Defensive driving classes are designed to help teach and reiterate the rules of the road so you can be better prepared for the unexpected. They will teach a variety of helpful techniques to help become a safer driver. You can also benefit by taking a defensive driving class to hold a 3-point credit on your driving record, and/or could earn you a discount with your auto insurance.
We offer the initial basic defensive driving course, and we also offer the follow up refresher course to continue with your education so you can continue to earn benefits and stay up to date with your driving skills.

Which class is right for me?

The Delaware 6 Hour Basic Defensive Driving Course is for any licensed driver who is interested in taking the course for the first time OR if it has been over 2 years since the expiration date from a previous class.
The Delaware 3 Hour Refresher Course is for those who are continuing their defensive driving education and/or benefits. Once the initial Basic Defensive Driving Course has been completed, students must wait at least 180 days before the 3-year expiration date in order to take the Refresher course to continue with their education and/or benefits.

How do I sign up for an online class?

You will just need to visit our online website at www.allstardriveredonline.com and click on the state of Delaware. Click on the class of your choice, and click on “Register Now.” This will take you through our registration process and then will ask for payment in full. Once the registration has been completed in full, the account will be ready to be accessed. If you ever have any issues, you are welcome to email us at online@allstarde.com for further assistance.
*Please note, our registration will require your driver’s license number, so please have that ready as you begin the registration process.

How will I know when I can start the course?

You should have immediate access to your course once the registration has been completed and the online fee has been paid in full. We accept Mastercard, Visa or Discover. I can’t log in. My account says “username not found.”

This generally means you are logging in on the incorrect website. Please make sure you are logging in at www.allstardriveredonline.com and use the email/username and password that you set up during registration.
*Please note the username and password are case-sensitive, so please double check that you are using the correct capital and lowercase letter to help avoid issues logging in.

I can’t log in. I don’t remember my password.

Please email us directly at online@allstarde.com and request a new password. Please make sure to include your full name and class you are registered for so we can look you up quickly. All passwords must contain 1 capital letter, 1 number, 1 symbol and must be at least 8 characters long. If you have something in mind you would like, please make sure to include it in the email and we can apply that new password to the account. Otherwise, we will make one for you and can send you your updated login information via email.

What happens if I fail my Final Exam?

Most of our students are able to pass the Final Exam on the first try, so don’t be nervous. You will have up to 3 attempts to take and pass the Final Exam. If you happen to fail all 3 times, you will have to make a new account at no additional cost, and take the course over again. For more information about creating a brand new account, please contact our office at (800)967-7719 and we can direct your further.

When do I get a certificate of completion?

For both classes, we will email the student a Certificate of Completion once they have fully completed the course, and passed the Final Exam with an 80% or higher score. This will be emailed directly to the email that is listed on the student’s account.

What do I need to do in order to obtain a driver's license?

Beginning January 1, 2007, all 16 year olds applying for a Class D driver's license must complete an approved driver education course and complete a total of 40 hours of supervised driving, 6 hours of which must be at night, with a parent or guardian's sworn verification that these requirements have been met. Any Georgia resident who has not completed an approved driver education course must be at least 17 years old to be eligible for a Class D driver's license. He or she must have completed a total of at least 40 hours of supervised driving, including at least 6 hours at night. The same verification in writing by a parent or guardian is required.

Apply for the Georgia learners permit

Be at least 15 years old.

Provide acceptable forms of personal identification that include your full name and date of birth, such as:

  • Original birth certificate (State issued)
  • Certified copy of birth certificate (with seal)
  • Certificate of birth registration
  • Certified copy of court records (adoption, name changes, or sex changes)
  • Certified naturalization records
  • Immigration I.D. card
  • Valid passport
  • U.S. citizens must furnish proof of citizenship. Non-U.S. citizens must present proper USCIS documentation.
  • Submit a Social Security number.
  • Submit a Georgia DDS Certificate of Attendance form signed and notarized from a school. All applicants under the age of 18 not enrolled in school must provide a GED diploma, high school diploma, or an attendance form from your local Board of Education if enrolled in an approved home school program.
  • Pass a vision test.
  • Pass a knowledge test.
  • Pay a $10 application fee.

Once you pass the vision and knowledge tests, you will be issued a learners permit.

Note: There must be a licensed driver who is at least 21 in the front seat next to you at all times. The learners permit is valid for 24 months.

Complete a DDS-approved Georgia driver’s education course

According to Joshua’s Law, beginning January 1, 2007, all 16-year-olds applying for a Class D license must:

  • Complete the All Star Driver Education state-approved Georgia driver’s education course that includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and also complete 6 hours of in-car driving lessons.
  • Complete a total of 40 hours of supervised driving, including at least 6 hours at night. A Certificate of Completion which you will receive from All Star upon completion must be presented at the time of your driver’s license application. Note: completion of the DDS approved Parent-Teen Driving Guide will serve as an affidavit that this requirement has been met; if you obtain the behind-the-wheel component of drivers education from us, a separate document affirming that this requirement has been met must be completed at the time of the road test.
  • Have held your learners permit for one year and a day.

If you have not completed an approved driver education course, you cannot obtain a Class D license until you reach the age of 17. Take your 30-hour classroom portion of driver’s education online or in class as we offer both, to receive an official Certificate of Completion. Both our online and in class programs are approved by the State of Georgia and the DDS (Department of Driver Services) and satisfies the 30-hour drivers education classroom requirement of Joshua’s Law.

Can I complete driver education a number of ways?

Yes you can complete it by performing any of the programs below, which we offer all of them here at All Star:

  • Private School (30 hrs) classroom (virtual or instructor) and (6 hrs) private behind the wheel training (students also need an additional 40 hrs of supervised driving experience).
  • Private School (30 hrs) classroom (virtual or instructor) and parent taught behind the wheel.
  • Virtual (30 hrs) classroom and (6 hrs) private behind the wheel training.
  • ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE 6 HOURS OF SUPERVISED DRIVING AT NIGHT.

Take the driving test for your Georgia driver’s license

When you are ready to take the driving test, make an appointment at your local DDS location. You can call 678-413-8400 or 678-413-8500 and select option 3. If you live outside metro-Atlanta but in Georgia, you can call 866-754-3687.

To be eligible for the Georgia driver’s license:

  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Have held a learners permit for a year and a day.
  • Effective January 1st, 2007, 16-year-olds must be in compliance with Joshua's Law. This means that, if you are under 17, you must present a Certificate of Completion of drivers education for 30 hours of classroom instruction (or online instruction) and 6 hours of in-car driving lessons.
  • Submit your Social Security number.

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign an affidavit that the applicant has completed at least 40 hours of on-the-road driving experience (6 hours of which was at night) with a parent or guardian. The 40-hour requirement is in addition to the driving completed with an instructor during an approved All Star Driver Education class (if under 17).

At the time of the road test examination, a parent or legal guardian with a Georgia Drivers License or ID Card will have to sign for you. The legal guardian must have a certified guardianship paper from court or adoption papers with an embossed court seal.

A Georgia DDS Certificate of Attendance form must be signed and notarized from your school. It is only valid for 30 days. All applicants under 18 not enrolled in school must provide a GED diploma, high school diploma, or an attendance form from the local Board of Education if enrolled in an approved home school program.

You must have the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) card.

Applicant will be required to pass a vision and a driving test.

The vehicle the driver is testing in must be properly insured, registered, have a valid tag, and must pass a safety inspection. You will be asked to show a valid insurance card. You may not take the test in a rental car. Once you pass your road test, you’ll be issued a Class D license, which is a provisional license. The Class D license has the following restrictions:

  • No driving between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m.
  • During the first six months following issuance, only immediate family mem¬bers may ride in the vehicle.
  • During the second six months following issuance, only one unrelated passen¬ger under 21 years of age may ride in the vehicle.
  • After the first and second six-month periods, only three unrelated passengers under 21 years of age may ride in the vehicle.
  • To upgrade from a Class D license to a Class C license, a Class D license holder must be free from any convictions of major traffic violations that result in the mandatory suspension of the license for 12 months preceding the application.

What would allow me to obtain an insurance discount by taking All Star?

A Certificate of Completion indicating you have successfully completed a traditional program consisting of 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction which we can provide you here at All Star. You may also be eligible for a $150.00 tax credit.

What is the supervised driving period?

If you’re under 18, once you have your learners permit, you’ll have to practice driving for at least 12 months before you apply for your Georgia driver’s license. During this time, you must complete at least 40 hours (6 at night) of supervised driving with a licensed parent/legal guardian or licensed adult who is at least 21 years old.

Will I need to take drivers training after I take your classroom or online course?

Georgia law requires all new drivers under 17½ to take at least 6 hours of drivers training (in-car driving lessons). After you complete our course, you’ll need to sign up with an approved driving school.

Is Parent-taught driver education dangerous?

We recognize the effectiveness of home-schooling for many academic subjects. However, the lack of formal training, knowledge, teaching skills, and split-second decision-making on the part of the driver education parent-teacher can put the child, the parent, pedestrians, and other roadway users in direct danger.¬ Driving is a complex and dangerous task that takes a great deal of risk awareness and observation skills. A parent who lacks the skills to teach math in a home-schooling environment will not likely cause injury or death to others. Conversely, the result of improperly trained parents in a driver education environment can indeed lead to injury and death. Driver training instructors are trained to build skills and confidence in children throughout the child’s driving instruction experience, and both aspects must be present in the driver education learning environment in order to keep everyone alive and safe. Instructors are trained to stay calm and handle emergency situations (which may involve taking control of the vehicle). In summary, the benefits of home-schooled driver education are not worth the risk. The average parent does not possess the educational training or skills necessary to safely correct any driving errors or guide a new driver through all aspects of our complicated traffic environments.

Why shouldn't I learn how to drive in a vehicle without special equipment?

Parents would not have the advantage of a training vehicle equipped with dual control brakes, dual mirrors, and "student driver" signs displayed on the front and rear of their vehicle, making for a very, very dangerous learning environment.

How will my insurance rates will rise upon adding a new driver?

Currently, parents are given automobile insurance discounts if their children complete formal driver education. If this bill passes, not only will home-schooled parents pay more for automobile insurance, the danger associated with less experienced drivers can raise insurance rates for all drivers.

Why do students drive with other students in the vehicle?

Currently, student drivers have an opportunity to interact with their peers and validate lessons learned through the guided observation of their peers.

Are there any statistics showing parent-taught driver education instruction is less safe?

A national study completed in Oregon in January 2005 reviewed teen driving records, including 16, 17, 18, and 19-year old drivers. It compared those that had 50 hours of driving practice with their parents and no driver education course. The study revealed: The crash rate for the teens taking formal driver education was 11-21% LOWER than those taking 100 hours of practice time with their parents. The traffic conviction rate for the teens taking formal driver education was 39-57% LOWER than those taking 100 hours of practice with their parents. The driver license suspension rate for the teens taking formal driver education was 51-53% LOWER than those taking 100 hours of practice time with their parents In 1997, Texas implemented administrative rules, based on legislation passed in 1995 that provided for parent or guardian-taught novice driver training. The 2007 study entitled, "Parent-Taught Driver Education in Texas: A Comparative Education," published by the US DOT-National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), concluded, in part: "Based on the analysis of information derived from nine focus groups, the responses of approximately 500 young drivers to a statewide survey, and analysis of more than 1.4 million Texas driver records, there is evidence to suggest that the parent-taught driver education program has a negative influence on the overall safety of the novice drivers in Texas, especially in terms of young driver crash involvement."

Is taking a driver education program with All Star worth it financially

The average cost of driver education (classroom and driving lessons) is $300. This fee is well worth the cost when you consider the instruction, use of equipment, gasoline costs, and the added assurances a parent has in knowing that his/her child is being guided by highly trained professional in an automobile that is equipped with instructor brakes and other equipment to help manage learning in a safe environment. The cost savings for parents is not worth the risk. The cost of increased injuries and fatalities will outweigh any benefit gained from home-schooled driver education.

What is the ASDE Discipline Policy?

Any student violating the rules and regulations as contained in this policy will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action and possible expulsion from the class. No refunds are granted due to disciplinary action that prevents a student from completing an All Star Driver Education course.

Prohibited acts include, but are not limited to:

Teasing, insulting, name calling, mean or rude gestures toward peers, instructors or employees, spreading rumors or behavior that would hurt other's feelings, swearing, taunting, ridiculing, humiliating, threatening, pushing, shoving, grabbing, spitting , sexual, ethnic, or harassment, stealing or extortion, fighting, kicking, punching, gang related gestures, assault, cheating, forgery, using cell phones during instruction, destruction of property belonging to All Star Driver Education or the facility in which classes are being held.

All Star Driver Education will expel any students in violation of State Laws and/or Local Ordinances which include, but are not limited to:

Abuse of fire alarms, safety equipment, bomb threats, lighting of fires or burning or attempting to burn any property belonging to the All Star Driver Education or the facility in which classes are being held or property belonging to persons employed by All Star Driver Education or attending the course, or the employees of the facility in which classes are being held. Possession, use of, or threatening to use dangerous weapons such as, but not limited to: fire arms, knives, iron bar, or brass knuckles. Possession, use or threatening the use of any weapon or dangerous object capable of inflicting bodily harm including but not limited to: chains, knives, fireworks, explosives, smoke bombs, and toy weapons resembling any of the above.

As a parent, how do I qualify for the $150 state tax credit?

Under code section 48-7-29.5(a), if a dependent minor child of a Georgia taxpayer completes an in-car training program with a private driver training school like ours, the taxpayer is entitled to a tax credit of up to $150.

A copy of the Certificate of Completion and proof of the fees paid for the in-car training course will be required to qualify for the credit. The amount of the credit is equal to $150.00 or the actual amount paid for the course, whichever is less. In essence, receiving the tax credit is like being reimbursed in full for the in-car training program.

Am I eligible for this course?

Any Idaho licensed driver will be eligible for our Accident Prevention Course. This defensive driving course will help you to become a safer, more knowledgeable driver to help prevent accidents in the future.

What is a defensive driving class?

“Accident Prevention” classes are intended to help teach and reiterate the rules of the road so you can become more prepared for the unexpected. This course will teach a variety of helpful techniques to help become a more alert & aware, safe driver. There are benefits to taking defensive driving courses, so please check with your auto-insurance provider or court to see more details about your possible benefits.

How do I sign up for an online class?

You will just need to visit our online website at www.allstardriveredonline.com and click on the state of Idaho. Click on the class of your choice, and click on “Register Now.” This will take you through our registration process and then will ask for payment in full. Once the registration has been completed in full, the account will be ready to be accessed. If you ever have any issues, you are welcome to email us at online@allstarde.com for further assistance.

How will I know when I can start the course?

You should have immediate access to your course once the registration has been completed and the online fee has been paid in full. We accept Mastercard, Visa or Discover. What happens if I fail my Final Exam?

Try not to stress it. You will have up to 3 attempts to take the Final Exam with a passing score. If you happen to fail all 3 times, you will have to make a new account and then will need to take the course over again. This second account will not cost you anything, we will waive the fee for you. When do I get a certificate of completion?

Once you have passed your entire course, we will email you a Certificate of Completion. This will be sent within 24 hours to the email listed on your account. How old does the student have to be in order to enroll in a Segment One course?

Students must be at least 14 years and 8 months old by the first day of class in order to attend. No exceptions may be made with this rule since it is regulated by the Michigan Dept. of State.

What is Segment One?

Segment One includes 24 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. We do offer packages for 8 hours or 10 hours for those interested in completing more than the state minimum. This is the first step for teens who wish to obtain a driver's license before they turn 18 years old. Both Segment One and Segment Two classes are required by the State of Michigan in order to receive a driver's license before a person turns 18 years old.

How long does it take to obtain a driver's license?

The entire process may take anywhere from 7 months or longer depending on when the student receives their Graduated Level One License and how quickly the student and the family wish to progress. Guidelines and time restrictions may be found by viewing the Teen Driver Ed page.

Do you accommodate learning or physically disabled students?

All Star strives to work with students of all learning and physical levels, however, there are certain limits to what we are able to do. For further information, please contact the main office at (734) 665-7374.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We all accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. If you need to make other payment arrangements, feel free to call our corporate office to make arrangements. We also accept payment from government organizations as well.

When should I pay? Is there a deposit required?

All services must be paid in full at the time of registration. If you are unable to do so, a deposit can be placed on the account to hold your registration. Arrangements can be made by calling us at; (734) 665-7374.

Do you have any payment plans available?

Our payment plan is as follows:

  • Half payment of the entire class must be done by the first day of class. If a half payment has not been received, your student’s drive times will be delayed for scheduling.
  • The remaining balance must be submitted to our corporate office by the last day of class.
  • A fee of $10 is added to any account that is not paid in full by the first day of class.
  • An additional fee of $40 will be added to any account that is not paid off by the last day of class.
  • No personal checks will be accepted unless approved by the corporate office.
  • If the other half of your balance is not paid by the end of class, we will withhold the Segment One Completion Certificate until payment has been made. Drive times can be postponed due to non-payment as well.

What is the cancellation/refund policy for the Segment 1 course?

As stated in your contract: ALL refund requests for all services offered are charged a $5 processing fee. No refunds will be given after the first day of class.
Refunds will be processed in full if a class/service is canceled by ASDE. Refunds take 2-3 weeks to process and will be in the form of a check (if paid by check, cash, or money order) or by credit (if paid by credit card).No refund will be issued if the student is expelled due to disciplinary reasons. To learn more about our discipline policy, please see question # 30 in our FAQ’s or contact our Corporate Office. There will be a $30 return check fee for all returned checks!

How many students do you allow in one class?

The State laws prohibit us from having more than 36 students attending one class, therefore we must limit our enrollment to 36 students - no exceptions may be made.

What do I need to bring to the first day of class?

Segment One students need to make sure to have the following:

State documents verifying your age are also appropriate. Examples: passport, state identification card, etc.

Do parents need to attend the first day of class?

It is not necessary for parents to be there on the first day of class with their students as long as the students bring the required paperwork and payment, if needed. We do hold an informational parent meeting. For details, please talk with the classroom instructor.

What is covered in the cost for Segment One?

The price for Segment One includes classroom and drive times, activities, and taxes. The tuition cost does not include Text Book Fee, Gas Surcharge, or the cost of Segment Two. Please call our corporate office if you have questions regarding prices. All charges for the text book and gas are set. They will not vary.

How do the students sign up for driving times? When do the students drive?

Students will be signing up for drive times during the first three days of class. These drive times are in addition to the scheduled classroom times. Segment One is 24 hours of class time, and 6 hours of driving time. All Star wishes to accommodate families and busy schedules by offering a wide variety of drive times, including before and after class and on weekends. All Star does not assign drive times, we allow the students to schedule their own drive times according to when they are able to drive. Please keep proper documentation of these so you can arrive on time. Any changes needed to be made, please contact the classroom instructor.

NOTE: Parents and Guardians! Please make sure that you let your children know what days and times work for you before the first class ­ they must be able to accurately sign up for driving times that fit your schedule as well as theirs. As mentioned before, the students will have the first three days of class to make any changes necessary to their driving schedules, based on any scheduling problems that you foresee.

How many drive times do the students need?

Segment one requires a minimum of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with a licensed instructor. Students will need to sign up for six separate sessions which will run for two hours per session. During these two hour sessions, there is one other student in the vehicle along with your student and the instructor (we DO NOT allow more than two students per session). The two students will drive for one hour each during the session. When a student is not driving, they will be using this time to observe and learn by filling out a worksheet in the back seat while the other student drives. (Only 4 hours of observation are required for teens)

Why can't the parent's sign up for the student's drive times?

This is a good question and there are a number of reasons All Star wishes for the student's to sign up for their own drive times. The foremost reason concerns the responsibility: the All Star staff and instructors believe that we aren't just teaching the students how to drive, but educating them on all of the responsibilities that are involved with operating a motor vehicle. Therefore, part of this responsibility includes scheduling and keeping accurate record of their drive times and communicating this schedule to their parents or guardians.

Also, based on the way we have students sign up for driving times, we only have enough space in the classroom for the students and the instructor. Unfortunately, having the parents and guardians in the classroom as well as the students and instructor would be very chaotic and disruptive to your students learning, since the driving times are scheduled during class. We hope you can understand. Any clarification on this can be discussed by calling our corporate office. We want to make sure everyone is accommodated appropriately.

What happens if a student misses a class?

All Star does allow a student to make up three missed classes. If your student misses more than three days of class, they MUST complete the classroom portion of Segment One over again. You will not be asked to re-pay. Please speak with the classroom instructor on the first day of class if you believe that your student may be missing a class during their Segment One session, and the classroom instructor will explain to you and the student on how the days missed will be made up. Classes are able to be made up after the original class has ended. There are no exceptions to this rule.

What if there is a snow day?

If your school district has announced a snow day, All Star's classes (which include driving times) at the respective location will be cancelled as well. Please keep this in mind if you are attending a classroom location other than your own school. If the students driving instructor decides that the road conditions aren’t good enough to drive in later that day, they might be calling you to try and re schedule your original drive times for that day. Please make sure all contact information has been updated with your instructors if you have changes. However, if you do not hear from the driving instructor, then the drive times for that day are cancelled.

What kind of cars do you use?

Primarily American-made, late model midsize sedans with colorful All Star auto wraps for high visibility. Each has right-side brake pedals, giving instructors complete control. Each is cleaned and sanitized regularly and comes with a hand sanitizer and first-aid kit. All undergo constant, detailed inspections.

I am over 18 years old. Can I still take Segment One?

Yes, of course you can! However it is crucial that you first obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit from your local Secretary of State Branch Office. This document will allow you to participate in the driving portion of this class. Your permit will cost $25 and requires that you pass a written exam. You must bring a photocopy of your valid TIP to your first day of class, along with your completed Michigan Adult Segment One Contract found under our Forms link on the home page of our website. If you wish to postpone obtaining your TIP, you will only be allowed to complete the classroom portion of Segment 1.

The green certificate that my student received after Segment One, what does that mean? Is that their Graduated Level One License?

NO! This is the Michigan Graduated Segment One Certificate of Completion - this is NOT a permit and does not allow your son or daughter to drive with an adult or guardian. This document simply verifies that your student has successfully completed the Segment One program through our school and may now apply for their Graduated Level One License through the Secretary of State (a.k.a driving permit). They are only qualified to drive once they have gone to the Secretary of State, and have been issued their permit. Student and parent must be present to obtain this permit.

What do we bring with us to the Secretary of State when we go to get my son/daughter's permit?

Who is my student allowed to drive with when they receive their Graduated Level One License (a.k.a. permit)?

Is my son/daughter allowed to drive out of the State of Michigan with their Graduated Level One License?

Yes, however they must be accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The adult must also be at least 21 years old.

We never went down to the Secretary of State, and received the Graduated Level One License; can't we just show the Segment One completion certificate in order to take Segment Two?

Unfortunately no, you must have went to the Secretary of State, and received your Graduated Level One Learners License at least 3 consecutive months before starting Segment Two. If not, your son/daughter will not be allowed to take Segment Two until they have done so. The other requirement before taking Segment Two is that your son/daughter has completed at least 30 hours of behind the wheel instruction (remember that two of the hours of training must be at night). Please remember that it is very important you go to the Secretary of State immediately after receiving the Segment One completion certificate, so you can get your son/daughters Graduated Level One License as soon as possible. Not doing so, could delay your son/daughter in getting their license on time.

What about the Graduated Level One License (a.k.a. permit)? Does that expire as well?

There is an expiration date on the Graduated Level One - it should be the student's 18th birthday. This is the day that the permit expires and you have until that date to take a road test.

Help! I've lost my Segment One certificate! What can I do?

All Star may reissue the certificate to you if you have lost either the Segment One or Segment Two certificate as long as you took the respective Segment from All Star. We cannot reissue certificates for you, if you attended another driver education school. Reissues of certificates are a $30 fee. Please contact the office immediately to have this reissued. It takes 2 business days to reissue a certificate, so please be sure to allow enough time if you need this by a specific day. When contacting the office, be sure to have your full name, date of birth and Segment location as well as the date that you completed the specific segment.

Photocopies of certificates are not kept on file, and are not accepted at the Secretary of State's office or road testing agencies. We do not fax copies to other driver education schools for road testing purposes, either. Please contact the office for more information.

I received my Segment One completion certificate but my name is spelled wrong/the birthdate is wrong.

No problem. Please call our corporate office at: 734-665-7374 and we can reissue a new one to you. Certificates are mailed to your home address. Please allow up to 7 business days for the new certificate to arrive.

What are the requirements for a student to enroll in a Segment Two course?

Student must have held a valid Level 1 license for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.

Student must have completed a minimum of 30 hours of driving time with a parent, legal guardian, or, with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, any licensed driver who is 21 years of age or older. Two of the 30 hours must be night driving. A student must possess a Level 1 license to drive a motor vehicle.

What is Segment Two?

Segment Two includes a three day class consisting of six (6) hours of Classroom Instruction. This is the second step for teens who wish to obtain a driver's license before they turn 18 years old. Both Segment One and Segment Two classes are required by the State of Michigan in order to receive a driver's license before a person turns 18 years old.

How long does it take to obtain a driver's license?

The entire process may take anywhere from 7 months or longer depending on when the student receives their Graduated Level One License and how quickly the student and the family wish to progress. Guidelines and time restrictions may be found by viewing the Teen Driver Ed page. Once you’ve reached Segment 2, the process shouldn’t be take much longer.

Do you accommodate learning or physically disabled students?

What forms of payment do you accept?

We all accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. If you need to make other payment arrangements, feel free to call our corporate office to make arrangements. We also accept payment from government organizations as well.

When should I pay? Is there a deposit required?

All services must be paid in full at the time of registration. If you are unable to do so, a deposit can be placed on the account to hold your registration. Arrangements can be made by calling us at: (734) 665-7374.

Do you offer any discounts at this time?

Typically, we do not offer discounts on segment 2 classes.

Do you have any payment plans available?

What is the cancellation/refund policy for the Segment 2 course?

As stated in your contract: ALL refund requests for all services offered are charged a $5 processing fee. No refunds will be given after the first day of class.

Refunds will be processed in full if a class/service is canceled by ASDE. Refunds take 2-3 weeks to process and will be in the form of a check (if paid by check, cash, or money order) or by credit (if paid by credit card).No refund will be issued if the student is expelled due to disciplinary reasons. How many students do you allow in one class?

The State laws prohibit us from having more than 36 students attending one class, therefore we must limit our enrollment to 36 students - no exceptions may be made.

What do I need to bring to the first day of class?

Do parents need to attend the first day of class?

It is not necessary for parents to attend any days of Segment 2. They are more than welcome to sit in though.

Do students drive in Segment Two?

Students will not complete any driving with an instructor during segment two. Although, we do encourage students to continue logging hours of practice. The more practice, the easier the road test examination will be.

What happens if a student misses a class?

Due to the brief length of Segment 2, students are not allowed to miss any classroom sessions. If an emergency case arises you will be asked to retake the entire session at no extra charge, no exceptions!

What if there is a snow day?

If your school district has announced a snow day, All Star's at the respective location will be cancelled as well. Please keep this in mind if you are attending a classroom location other than your own school

I took Segment One through a different company, can I still take Segment 2 through All Star?

Yes, you sure can! You can take Segment 2 with any state-approved company.

Do you have classroom numbers?

Any class room numbers that have been pre-approved will be listed on the homepage of that school location. You can easily find your location by using our zip code locator on our website.

I am over 18 years old. Can I still take Segment Two?

Yes, of course you can!

What does the white certificate I received mean?

This certificate is your Segment Two Completion Certificate. You will want to save this document! You will need it in order to take your road test.

What is a license issue date?

This is the date that the Level One License was issued to you. This can be found at the very top. They will be a list of letters and numbers, the date will be the first 8 numbers in that sequence.

Does my Segment 2 completion certificate expire?

The expiration date of your Segment 2 certificate is the student's 18th birthday. This is the same for their Level One License. You have until that date to take a road test. Otherwise, your permit will need to be renewed at the Secretary of State.

Help! I've lost my Segment Two certificate! What can I do?

All Star may reissue the certificate to you if you have lost either the Segment One or Segment Two certificate as long as you took the respective Segment from All Star. We cannot reissue certificates for you, if you attended another driver education school. Reissues of certificates are a $30 fee. Please contact the office immediately to have this reissued. It takes 2 business days to reissue a certificate, so please be sure to allow enough time if you need this by a specific day. When contacting the office, be sure to have your full name, date of birth and Segment location as well as the date that you completed the specific segment.

Photocopies of certificates are not kept on file, and are not accepted at the Secretary of State's office or road testing agencies. We do not fax copies to other driver education schools for road testing purposes, either. Please contact the office for more information.

I received my Segment Two completion certificate but my name is spelled wrong/the birthdate is wrong.

No problem. Please call our corporate office at: 734-665-7374 and we can reissue a new one to you. Certificates are mailed to your home address. Please allow up to 7 business days for the new certificate to arrive.

If I don’t attend that location, can I still take classes there?

Yes, there are no restrictions that don’t allow students from other schools to attend classes at another facility.

Can I schedule a road test at the same time that I schedule Segment 2?

You can schedule a road test as soon as Segment 2 is complete and you’ve received your white Segment Two completion certificate. You will also need to make sure you’ve fulfilled all requirements.

How long do I have to wait before I can schedule a road test? What’s the next step?

You can schedule your road test when you have completed segment 2, have driven on your Level One License for 6 months or longer, and have completed 50 hours of supervised driving including 10 hours at night.

I am 15 years old. Can I still take my road test?

Yes, as long as you meet the requirements, you can still road test at 15. You will not be able to receive you driver’s license until you are 16 years old. You can visit the Secretary of State at that time.

What is the ASDE Discipline Policy?

Any student violating the rules and regulations as contained in this policy will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action and possible expulsion from the class. No refunds are granted due to disciplinary action that prevents a student from completing an All Star Driver Education course.

Prohibited acts include, but are not limited to:

  • Teasing, insulting, name calling, mean or rude gestures toward peers, instructors or employees, spreading rumors or behavior that would hurt other's feelings, swearing, taunting, ridiculing, humiliating, threatening, pushing, shoving, grabbing, spitting , sexual, ethnic, or harassment, stealing or extortion, fighting, kicking, punching, gang related gestures, assault, cheating, forgery, using cell phones during instruction, destruction of property belonging to All Star Driver Education or the facility in which classes are being held.

All Star Driver Education will expel any students in violation of State Laws and/or Local Ordinances which include, but are not limited to:

  • Abuse of fire alarms, safety equipment, bomb threats, lighting of fires or burning or attempting to burn any property belonging to the All Star Driver Education or the facility in which classes are being held or property belonging to persons employed by All Star Driver Education or attending the course, or the employees of the facility in which classes are being held. Possession, use of, or threatening to use dangerous weapons such as, but not limited to: fire arms, knives, iron bar, or brass knuckles. Do you offer a rental vehicle?

Does a student have to be 16 years old to take a road test?

Not necessarily. The student must have held their Level One License for a minimum of 180 days and also accumulated at least 50 hours of driving practice (10 of those hours must be at night) with a licensed adult over the age of 21 years. This may be before they are 16 years old, but they are not eligible to apply for a driver's license until they are 16 years old.

What training is required to be eligible for a road test?

If you are under 18 years old:

  • Must have held a Graduated Level One License for at least 180 days.
  • Must have driven at least 50 hours (10 of these at night) with a licensed adult driver over 21 years old.
  • Must have completed the Segment Two course

Over 18 years old:

  • Have been to the Secretary of State's office and have taken and passed the written test.

Note: No formal driver education is required for an adult, however, it may be a good idea to consult with a driving instructor before taking the Road Test.

How do I sign up for an appointment?

You must have your Level One License or Temporary Instruction Permit and your payment ready with a Mastercard, Visa or Discover in front of you to schedule an appointment. What should I bring to the road test?

If you are under 18 years old:

  • Graduated Level One License

  • Vehicle Insurance and Registration

How long does the road test last?

Approximately one hour, however it can vary slightly at each location.

What if I don't pass my road test?

You must wait at least 24 hours before rescheduling the road test. We do not give refunds for failed road tests, nor do we dismiss the fee for a second road test.

Is there a limit to how many times a person may take the road test?

There is no limit, but keep in mind that the price is the same for each test.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my road test?

To cancel or reschedule a road test, you must contact our office at least 24 hours in advance 734-665-7374. If you do not show up for your road test, or do not contact our office 24 hours in advance, you will forfeit the fee for the road test.

What if I am running late for my road test appointment?

If you are 10 or more minutes late for a road test, you may be turned away at the discretion of the road test examiner. There are no refunds issued if you are unable to arrive on time for your scheduled road test. Please note that our corporate office is not a road testing site. What happens if I don’t bring all required items to my road test?

Failure to bring all of the required documents (listed above) will result in a failed road test. No refunds will be issued. If you are under the age of 18, but did not bring a parent or legal guardian to the road test, you will be turned away and no refund will be issued.

If it is raining or snowing, do I still have to take my test?

Yes. If you feel that you will not be able to take your test, you must notify our office at least 24 hours in advance as stated above to cancel or reschedule a test. In the event that the weather has provided an unsafe condition to conduct road tests for that day, the road test examiner or our corporate office staff will contact you.

If I have an interlock device on my vehicle, can I still take a road test?

Yes, in fact you must only test in a vehicle that has an interlock device on it. It is important to make sure that your vehicle with the interlock device installed on it will pass the vehicle inspection portion of the test. Can I use a backup camera during the test?

Backup cameras are not permitted during the road test. A backup camera must be disabled during the test. Most vehicle manufacturers will proved instructions to disable the camera in the vehicle owner’s manual. If you are unable to disable the camera before your scheduled road test, you will be turned away without a refund.

Can I practice at the road test site?

We strongly urge you not to use our site for practice. During the time that our road test course is set up, we are using it for scheduled tests. We are also not permitted to share the routes used for road tests. Do you offer private driving lessons for adults?

We offer private driving instruction for adults. If you are an adult and are interested in our private driving lessons, you must have first gone to your local Secretary of State to acquire either your Michigan Temporary Permit or 1 Cent Receipt (foreign students only), before we would be able to instruct you. Do you offer private driving lessons for teens?

Is driver education required for me?

How do the students sign up for driving times? When do the students drive?

Students will be signing up for drive times during the first three days of class. These drive times are in addition to the scheduled classroom times. Driver Education is 24 hours of class time, and 8 hours of driving time. All Star wishes to accommodate families and busy schedules by offering a wide variety of drive times, including before and after class and on weekends. All Star does not assign drive times, we allow the students to schedule their own drive times according to when they are able to drive. Please keep proper documentation of these so you can arrive on time. Any changes needed to be made, please contact the classroom instructor.

NOTE: Parents and Guardians! Please make sure that you let your children know what days and times work for you before the first class they must be able to accurately sign up for driving times that fit your schedule as well as theirs. As mentioned before, the students will have the first three days of class to make any changes necessary to their driving schedules, based on any scheduling problems that you foresee. Keep in mind, the state of Minnesota only gives 180 days to complete the entire program.

My certificate has not come in the mail yet.

All certificates are mailed on Friday of every week. You should expect your certificate 5 – 7 business days after you’ve completed. You can choose to have your certificate priority mailed (2-3 days) for $15.00 or overnighted for $30.00.

Can you email me my certificate?

Unfortunately, by state law, we cannot email certificates. All certificates will be mailed to the address listed on your account.

Am I eligible for this course?

Any student who has a valid Missouri license, and has already received an eligible citation can take our online Missouri Defensive Driving course. Once you receive your citation, you should know whether or not you are eligible to take a defensive driving course, but if not, please contact the court who issued the citation for more information. Students must take this course within 60 days of paying your fine in order to qualify for point-reduction.

What is a defensive driving class?

Defensive driving classes are designed to help teach and reiterate the rules of the road so you can be better prepared for the unexpected. They will teach a variety of helpful techniques to help become a safer driver. You can also benefit by taking a defensive driving class to help lower existing points on your license and possible even earn a discount on your auto insurance provider (limited).

How do I sign up for an online class?

You will just need to visit our online website at www.allstardriveredonline.com and click on the state of Missouri. Click on the class of your choice, and click on “Register Now.” This will take you through our registration process and then will ask for payment in full. We accept Mastercard, Visa or Discover. Please have your payment ready when starting the registration process. Once the registration has been completed in full, the account will be ready to be accessed. How will I know when I can start the course?

You should have immediate access to your course once the registration has been completed and the online fee has been paid in full. If you are ever having any issues logging into your account, please feel free to contact our office directly at (800)967-7719, and we would be happy to help you gain access as soon as possible.

I can’t log in. My account says “username not found.”

This generally means you are logging in on the incorrect website. Please make sure you are logging in at www.allstardriveredonline.com and use the email/username and password that you set up during registration.

**Please note the username and password are case-sensitive, so please double check that you are using the correct capital and lowercase letter to help avoid issues logging in.**

I can’t log in. I don’t remember my password.

You are welcome to email our online division directly at online@allstarde.com and request a new password. Please make sure to include your full name and class you are registered for so we can look you up quickly. All passwords must contain 1 capital letter, 1 number, 1 symbol and must be at least 8 characters long. If you have something in mind you would like, please make sure to include it in the email and we can apply that new password to the account. Otherwise, we will make one for you and can send you your updated login information via email.

What happens if I fail my Final Exam?

Most of our students are able to pass the Final Exam on the first try, so don’t be nervous. You will have up to 3 attempts to take and pass the Final Exam. If you happen to fail all 3 times, don?t worry. You can make a new account at no additional cost, and take the course over again. For more information about creating a brand new account, please contact our office at (800)967-7719 and we can direct your further.

When do I get a certificate of completion?

Once the full course has been completed, and the Final Exam has been passed, we will issue a Form 4444. All students have a total of 15 days to get the Form 4444 to the DOR. So make sure to call our office once you’ve completed the course so we can make sure to get your Form out as soon as possible. The process can change whether or not you have already paid your fines, or if you are court ordered to take this program, so please find the information down below.

If you have already paid your fine through the Fine Collection Center (FCC), then we will send it directly to the Department of Revenue (DOR) for you and be able to save you a step.

If you were court ordered to take this course, then we will mail the Form 4444 to you as quickly as possible, and it is the responsibility of the student to get the additional area filled out by the courts. Once the Form 4444 is fully completed, please mail it to the address at the bottom of the form: Drivers License Bureau, P.O. Box 200, Jefferson City, MO 65105.

How do I get a replacement certificate?

In the case that your original certificate is lost, stolen or damaged, and you need a replacement, there will be a fee of $15.00 to generate a new Form 4444. Please call our corporate office at (800)967-7719 and we?d be happy to get another certificate made and mailed out as quickly as possible.

Is driver education required for me?

Although students will not need drivers education to apply for their permit, all students under the age of 18 will be required to have a driver’s education class in order to apply for their license.

How does online driver’s education work?

You will just need to create an account on our website, www.allstardriveredonline.com. Click on the state of Nevada, select the class you are interested in, and click “Register Now.” Make sure you have your payment ready when you start the registration process, as your account will not show up in our database until a payment has been made.

How old do I have to be to start driver education?

How long will this course take to complete?

That depends on your individual pace. In Nevada, all driver’s education courses must be at least 30 hours. You can always go at your own pace and log in and out at your convenience.

How do I complete the Behind The Wheel?

In the state of Nevada, students will have 2 options for their Behind the Wheel. Most students will complete 50 hours of behind the wheel driving instruction with a parent/guardian once they have a valid permit. If there is no drivers education company within a 30-mile radius of your residence and you would not like to take an online course, then there is the option to complete a full 100 hours of behind the wheel driving instruction with a parent/guardian. What is a Traffic Safety course?

Traffic safety—commonly known as defensive driving—school aims to educate drivers about defensive driving techniques in order to create safer drivers. Courses are offered in many states for a variety of reasons.

What Can This Course Do For Me?

The Nevada DMV notifies residents through mail once they have accrued 3 or more points on their record. Any driver with 3-11 points on their record is eligible to take a Traffic Safety course to remove 3 points from their record.

If you’ve received a traffic violation and have made a plea bargain with the courts, you may be required to take a Traffic Safety course. In this case, you will not be eligible for a point reduction.

No points or traffic violations? This course may still be for you. Some insurance companies in the State of Nevada will offer you a reduction in your insurance rates upon completion of a Traffic Safety course. You MUST ask your insurance provider BEFORE enrolling in either of our courses if they will accept completion of a Traffic Safety course.

How do I know which Nevada traffic safety course I should take?

Those who have received moving violations three or more times within the past 12 months are eligible for the 8-hour traffic safety course. Drivers who have received two or less moving violations within the past 12 months are eligible for the 5-hour traffic safety course.

To enroll in a traffic safety course, drivers:

  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must not have taken a traffic safety course voluntarily within the past 12 months.
  • Must have an eligible moving violation.
  • If you wish to take the course in order to lower your insurance rates, you must need a good driving record and permission from your insurance provider prior to enrolling in our course.

How does the Nevada point reduction work?

Completion of a traffic safety course makes you eligible for a reduction of up to 3 points from your record every 12 months. You may not take a traffic safety course more than once in a 12 month period. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and we will notify the DMV. You will not need to contact the DMV directly.

If you have been court ordered to take the course, you will not be eligible for any point reduction, as you will already be taking the course in order to not receive any more points on your record. If you take the course voluntarily, because you have more than three points and less than 11 points on your record, then you will be eligible for a 3-point reduction.

If you were court ordered to take a traffic safety course by the courts, then you have received a violation and are being given a chance to take the course in place of receiving any points on your record. The citation, however, will remain on your record for 3 years. If you are taking the course voluntarily, then you have not recently received any violations and are simply looking to remove points from your record.

How long will it take to complete this Nevada traffic safety course?

As required by the state, the 5-hour traffic safety course is required to be 5 hours in length and 8-hour traffic safety course is required to be 8 hours in length. If you want to take a break or need to complete the course in smaller time increments, our system will remember where you stopped and you will be able to pick up where you left off last each time you log in.

How does online driver’s education work?

You will just need to create an account on our website, www.allstardriveredonline.com. Once the parent verification has been completed and the OH Online Contract has been submitted, you will have full access to your course.

Once you complete the first 2 hours of the course, we'll send you a Certificate of Enrollment, which you can take to any licensed driving school to begin your in-car driving lessons.

There will be a final exam at the end of your driver’s ed course. Once you pass the test, we'll mail your Certificate of Completion to you as well.

Is this class required for me?

Starting July 1, 2017, any adults (18+ years old) who have never held a driver’s license before and who have failed their first attempt at the maneuverability and/or road test are required to take an Abbreviated Adult Training Course. If you are interested in signing up for an online course to make this process more convenient and easily accessible, then this is the course for you!

What are the requirements to enroll in this online course?

All students must be at least 18 years old and must have failed the road test. All students who fail the road test are required to take an Abbreviated Adult course. All online students must have access to a desktop/laptop computer with internet access. Other than that, you may login and log out as you need to complete the course. Our program will consist of some Modules and Topics with reading content, along with some additional videos and images that will provide you with the additional knowledge to improve your driving skills for life.

How does this online course work?

You will just need to create an account on our website, www.allstardriveredonline.com. Once the OH Adult Abbreviated Online Contract and the OH Abbreviated Notarized Statement have both been submitted, you will gain full access to your online course. Once you have taken and passed the entire course, we will issue you a Certificate of Completion.

How do I submit my paperwork?

Once you have both the OH Abbreviated Adult Online Contract and the OH Abbreviated Adult Notarized Statement Form completed, you may email them to us at online@allstarde.com. You may also fax them to our office at (734)665-7680, or you may also send them into 75 Aprill Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. For any other information, please call our office.

Is there driving time required?

Yes! There is a driving portion that is required to go along with the online portion. As long as we have an instructor available in your area, we’d be happy to provide the 4 hours of state required driving time for an additional cost. Please call our office at your earliest convenience at (734)665-7374 to see if we have an instructor in your immediate area!

How long is this course?

This course is a four-hour long course. This is the required minimum time in order to receive your certificate. That is a cumulative time, you do not need to sit down and finish it all in four straight hours if you do not want to. You can go at your own pace, and may log in and out as you need.

What is required to pass the course?

Students will need to complete the entire online program, along with passing all Module/Topic quizzes, fully viewing all visual aids, and must also pass the Final Exam. In the case that a student fails their Final Exam, they will have three (3) total attempts to take it, but are required to wait a minimum of 24 hours between each attempt.

How do I get my completion certificate?

You will receive your certificate in the mail once you complete your final exam. Unfortunately, we are unable to email or fax any certificates. All certificates will be mailed to the address listed on your account, so please double check the address to eliminate any possibilities for error.

How can I get my certificate quicker?

If need be, you can choose to have your certificate priority mailed (2-3 business days) for an additional $30.00 or overnighted for an additional $75.00. If you are interested in these options, please call our office at your earliest convenience with a payment ready.

Is driver education required for me?

It is required by the DPS for teens 14 to 17 years old. You’ll need to complete a TEA-approved driver’s education course.

Is your course state approved?

Our course is approved by the TEA (class #115), satisfies DPS requirements, and is equivalent to the regular 32-hour in-class driver’s education course.

If I am over 18 years old, can I still take this course online?

Yes. If you are over 18 years old, you have the option to take this 32-hour driver education course instead of the 6-hour Texas adult driver education course, but you must complete all 32 hours of the course.

What about the in-car portion of driver’s education?

With the parent taught course, students will be eligible to complete their driving hours with a parent/guardian once the student has received their permit from the DPS. There will be 2 forms in your DPS Parent Taught Packet that you will need; a “Behind the Wheel Practice Log” and a “In-Car Observation & Behind the Wheel Instruction Log” that will both need to be filled out once the student begins their driving. Students are only allowed to complete 1 hour per day towards their driving log hours, so make sure to keep these accessible and in decent condition. We will require a copy of both of these forms in order to generate the final completion certificate.

How does your course work?

This course is available to you online 24/7. That means you can log in and out whenever you want. The state of Texas allows students to login and work on their course up to 2 hours per day. You can access your course from any computer that has Internet access! When you log back in, it’ll take you back to the exact place you left off.  After module 1 (the first 6 hours) of the program has been passed, you will receiver you learner’s license certificate in the mail. This you can take to your local DPS to apply for the students permit. After all modules are complete, you will have a final exam to complete. Upon passing the final, and once you’ve submitted both drive logs to our corporate office, you will receive your driver’s license certificate in the mail. You will take this document to your local DPS as well on the day of the student’ Road Test.

I have not received my parent taught packet yet.

All Star does not supply the parent taught packet. You will need to contact your local DPS for this document. You can visit www.txdps.state.tx.us/driverlicense/parenttaught.htm for more information. It will explain in detail how you can obtain the parent taught driver education packet.

What does your course include?

Our course is designed with 12 modules, with the same fun and effective curriculum that we offer in our classrooms. Each lesson is jam-packed with great interactive features to help make laws and driving easy to comprehend. We are approved by the state of Texas.

What is the Class C Test?

Our program now provides the state approved Class C test to go along with your online course at no additional charge. This is equivalent to the permit test you would take through the DPS when applying for your Learner’s License. We do require this to be taken any time before you receive your first Learner’s License Certificate, so let us know as soon as possible! Please contact and request this directly via email at online@allstarde.com if you’d like to take advantage of this test. You may also call our office for more information.

How long do I get to complete your course?

The state allows you to complete your class within 180 days. If failure to do so, you will be asked to make a new account (with a new email) and begin your classes over, at no additional charge.

I have entered my login information, and your site says that it does not recognize my username and password.

Please make sure you are accessing our online website: www.allstardriveredonline.com. We have two websites for our company, but this one is just for online programs. If you are still having difficulties, please contact our office at: 800-967-7719 between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 PM EST.

I have been trying to log in and it states that I have reached my daily time limit. Can you override this so I can work on my class?

Unfortunately, we cannot override this. The state allows 2 hours per day for coursework, so please make sure you are logging out after every session or the clock will continue to run. Also, keep in mind, your clock only after a full 24 hour period.

I completed my online course a while ago, but have yet to receive my completion certificate?

Please make sure that you have completed all requirements. We will need to see proof that you completed the course (passing the final exam) and that you’ve completed 44 hours of driving as well. You will need to provide us with a copy of the “Behind the Wheel Practice Log” and a “In-Car Observation & Behind the Wheel Instruction Log” before we can generate the final completion certificate. If you have any further questions about the status of your certificate, please call our office at 800-967-7719 and we would be happy to look into this for you.

I failed the final exam. How many more tries do I have?

You are allowed 3 attempts to pass the final exam. If you fail the exam 3 times, you will have to start the course over again. Please call our office to get more information about making a new account at no additional cost.

How do certificates usually arrive?

All certificates are mailed to the address listed on your account. If you prefer a different address, please call our corporate office at: 800-967-7719 to request that promptly upon completion. Please allow 7-10 business days for it to arrive.

Can you fax or email certificates?

Only limited DPS Branches allow emailed copies of the certificates, so check with your local DPS office. If you would like a certificate to be emailed, we can only email a DPS Representative directly, so you would need to provide us with their official state email. For more information, please feel free to call our office.
